Bali Village Academy
VIDEO: Development and Planning for the Bali Village Academy. Co-founders Wayan Carma (black jacket, center) and Hardi Yana (to Wayan’s left).
Bali Village Academy will be the first hospitality institute with a curriculum based on the local culture and values of Bali. Co-founded by Harmony Project leaders Wayan Carma (bio link) and Hardiyana (bio link), it’s faculty shall be composed of leading gurus and mentors set in a dispersed learning center located within the Pinge farm village for the purpose of echoing it’s indigenous Balinese culture: daily rhythm, food, facilities, dress-code, shared values of the Banjar (local commune), and biosphere. Significantly, the farm village location is deliberately preferred over an urban setting (such as Denpasar) to enable Learning Outcomes (see column at right) to effectively capture indigenous knowledge resources.
The curriculum shall embrace gastronomic, performing and visual arts, permaculture, wellbeing and spirituality, and will expect all participants to example a set of shared Core Values (see column at lower right) as an important point of significance. Importantly, we shall execute scholastic and research alignment with modern hospitality competency standards of indigenous teaching and hospitality principles in concert with the Harmony Project’s (HP) 20-key hospitality destination integrated within the same farm community. HP’s enterprise — including Culinary Institute, and Integrated Clinic for Wellbeing — will soon become the primary intern / apprentice sponsor of choice for the Bali Village Academy along with HP’s Ubud-based visual & performing, gastronomic art exhibition program-based destination to the South.
An integrated education program based on the indigenous mental, skill, and attitude development set in the Balinese village to embrace traditional values and learning.
The resident and sojourner shall embrace the village as a resource for learning as a direct asset-base of hospitably development through a well-designed program.
Develop compassionate, inquisitive learners prepared for local responsibility and a life of continued learning and leadership embracing authenticity. To create a center of learning within the Balinese village in order to establish world-class hospitality professional standards reflecting Balinese indigenous values and to establish a higher-caliber for the global hospitality community to emulate.
